Community Initiatives
 
Rehabilitates homes for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners and families with children; also rehabilitates some nonprofit facilities. 
 
Gives residents an opportunity to help keep their city clean. The initiative seeks volunteers for a variety of positions to help promote a broad-based, visible, and constant "clean city" message. 
 
Deters crime by patrolling Metro, concerts, street fairs, block parties, and public parks. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization also trains members in self-defense, provides escort services, and distributes food to the homeless.
 
Fosters the informed use of the Internet for civic participation and philanthropy. The organization's easy-to-use ePhilanthropy portal includes a comprehensive listing of volunteer opportunities.
